What do I do if I am Charged with Public Lewdness in Texas?
Hire a lawyer. This is an embarrassing charge and it looks bad on your record. You need to do everything you can to protect yourself now and in the future. Many times this is an innocent charge. Usually it is a couple (typically young), who are in love (or lust) and have nowhere to express their love for each other in private.
I have represented quite a few high school students who were arrested for having sex in a park, in a car, or even in school. It is understandable that things like this happen when people fall for each other, but have no home of their own.
My goal is to make sure that this doesn’t ruin you. Whether you are a teenager, or someone who is older and made a mistake, my job is to help you and fight for you. And if you are in a situation where you were arrested for something that didn’t even happen (this happens too!) then I will be there to fight the case until the end.
Every case is different, but make no mistake, I have pretty much seen it all. Give me a call and we can develop a plan. Whether that plan be set the case for trial, get you into a program to get your case dismissed, or get a special probation to where this case can come off your record, I will always recommend the best option for your criminal record and your future.
