Houston courts were heavily impacted by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The toll taken on local criminal courts has led to a very confusing time right now to figure out what court you are supposed to go to, where the courts are, at what time, etc.

Here is the information we have today as of February 27, 2018.  This is of course subject to change at anytime, and you should reach out directly to the courts if you have questions regarding the location or time of your court.

Tip: If you go to a search engine like google and type in the court information (example: Harris County Criminal Court Number 16), it will give you a link directly to that court.  And on that link, it will give you all of the court information (might not be accurate), staff members, and phone numbers (see below)

The felony jail dockets are even more complicated.  The times and dates are constantly changing.  If you have someone in jail, you can find their Harris County court date online.

I have a separate blog with a walkthrough on how to find a person’s court date.  See my blog for more information on how to use that website.

Once you know the court date, just call the court at the link above and they can let you know what time, where, etc the court is going to be held.  In the alternative, your loved one’s attorney should have this information as well.

I am in no way affiliated or employed with Harris County, I just wanted to post some information because I have been getting so many questions regarding this.  Again, this is only temporary until the Harris County Criminal Justice Center re-opens.  However, latest indications are that the courthouse could be closed until early 2020.

Finally, I hope this helps some people, Screenshots of Criminal, Civil, Family, and Juvenile Court Locations.
